  • What Happen when you chose AI over SEO

Another week. Another client who chose AI over SEO.
This one hurt to watch.
An office cleaning company canceled the contract of SEO because one of their staff member built them a new website using AI.
The new site?
A clean-looking, one-page website hosted on hostinger.
I’m willing to bet it was generated by Claude in an afternoon. Website is perfect as it look modern and load very fast

But here’s what didn’t make the proper redirection (how to redirect multiple cities pages to home page?)
– Every local service area page.
– Every city page.
– Years of SEO equity. (How to optimize content of multiple pages in one)
– Hundreds of keywords the business had earned. (multiple pages = multiple keywords)

Before they launched, we told them exactly what would happen.
“If those localized pages don’t come over, your local rankings are going to tank.”
They launched anyway.
This is the second client I’ve watched make this exact decision.
The first replaced their website with AI-generated content.
This one replaced an entire local SEO strategy with… one page.
Businesses keep asking if AI is replacing SEO agencies.
I think they’re asking the wrong question.
AI isn’t replacing strategy.
It’s making it easier than ever to accidentally destroy it.
A beautiful website isn’t the same thing as a website that generates leads.
Anyone can prompt AI to build a website.
Very few people know what not to remove.
Years of authority…
Thousands invested…
Hundreds of rankings…
Gone.
For what?
A one-page website.
That’s not AI replacing SEO.
That’s AI being used without understanding what made the business successful in the first place.

I’m convinced we’re going to see a wave of businesses spending the next 12-24 months trying to recover the SEO they unknowingly deleted.
